Looking for today's Patches answer? Patches is LinkedIn's daily game — a spatial-logic puzzle where you divide the grid into rectangular patches, each holding one clue — and the full solution is on this page — updated the moment each new puzzle goes live. Click any cell to reveal the whole patch that covers it, or reveal a specific clue's patch — confirming one boundary often makes its neighbours fall into place. Whether you want to confirm one square, unlock the part you're stuck on, or see the whole solution, it's all here, along with how the game works and how to solve it faster.
Today's Patches answer
Today's Patches solution is shown above with the reveal tool, so you decide how much you see rather than getting the whole thing at once. The countdown shows when the next puzzle lands: Patches refreshes every day at midnight Pacific Time (3:00 a.m. Eastern), and this page updates as soon as it does.
How Patches works
| Rule | Detail |
|---|---|
| Goal | Partition the grid into rectangular and square patches so each patch contains exactly one clue, with no gaps or overlaps. |
| Size numbers | A clue's number tells you how many cells its patch covers; some clues have no number, so the size is part of the puzzle. |
| Shape badges | A badge shows the constraint — wide, tall, square, or cross (any shape). |
| Reset | A new Patches puzzle drops every day at midnight Pacific Time (3:00 a.m. Eastern). |
Tips for solving Patches
- Start with prime-number clues (2, 3, 5, 7) — they can only form a single-row or single-column strip, so they have very few placements.
- Work edges and corners first; a patch against the boundary has fewer directions to grow, limiting its shape.
- Use the shape badges to eliminate orientations early — a “tall” badge rules out any wide rectangle before you count cells.
- Stuck on one clue? Reveal just that patch; its boundaries usually clarify the patches around it.
What is LinkedIn Patches?
Patches is one of LinkedIn's newer logic games, inspired by the Japanese puzzle Shikaku. You split the grid into rectangles — one clue per patch — with LinkedIn's twists of un-numbered clues and shape badges (wide, tall, square or any). Difficulty ramps through the week, with Monday the easiest. Like all LinkedIn games it resets every day at midnight Pacific Time (3:00 a.m. Eastern), gives you one puzzle per day, and tracks your streak and time against your network — which is exactly why a quick way to check the answer or get unstuck is so useful when a tough board threatens your run.
